GeoCapture
GeoCapture turns photos or video into a 3D model and point cloud, without photogrammetry software or reconstruction experience.
Workflow
- Create a capture project and give it the site name and coordinate system.
- Upload a photo set or a video.
- Select the frames that should take part in reconstruction; remove blurred or duplicated frames.
- Start the reconstruction job and wait for it to finish.
- Review the 3D model and point cloud; check scale, orientation and obvious holes.
- Publish the result as a service and open it in a scene.
Input guidance
- Overlap consecutive photos by roughly 60–80%.
- Keep the camera settings consistent within one capture.
- Avoid moving objects, strong reflections and uniform surfaces.
- For a large site, split the capture into smaller areas instead of one very large job.
Outputs
- 3D model for scene display and measurement.
- Point cloud for checking geometry and measuring change.
- A published service that can be used by scenes, dashboards and map applications.
Requirements
- A current Chrome or Edge browser.
- Enough storage for the uploaded media and the reconstruction output.
- A project whose coordinate system matches the survey control.
